About the event

This is an online event, for which participants will use https://protege.stanford.edu/ to complete a task that will be assigned during the event. Hence, kindly make sure you have the tool available on your laptop. Further instructions will be sent to registrant participants.

The challenge will involve understanding an ontology called OntoMatPassport to calculate the Material Circularity Index (MCI) of an automotive chassis cross beam by creating a rule using the Semantic Web Rule Language (SWRL). The OntoMatPassport ontology has been developed to represent data about newly manufactured or end-of-life products, their components, and materials. In this challenge, you will be provided with all relevant data about an end-of-life chassis cross beam to calculate its MCI. On the day of the hackathon, a 40-minute tutorial will be given to explain the challenge, including which classes and properties of OntoMatPassport are relevant for calculating MCI, the MCI equation, and how to create…
